GODS OF CHAOS
by Daniel Ray Meisinger

In the beginning, there was God, and his Angels. Before that, there was nothing. The world we know was created within a “Big Bang”. The destruction of one world, created another.
The Lord Jehovah looked down upon our planet, and decreed there be life. Many creatures created, and destroyed, in the search for the perfect beings. Those beings would be known as the Simian Race, a frail and fragile species that was meant to one day rule this planet. For the Simians, the Lord Jehovah created a garden, known as Eden. Eden was filled with many fruit, all serving a purpose, in the evolution of the race. None as important as the Vein of God. What would one day become known as Grapes, these fruits ensouled the crowning achievement of the Simian Race, known as Humans. Their “souls” were a link to God, and an insurance that they would feel God’s love for all eternity. But these Humans were not perfect. They practiced in something the Lord Jehovah referred to as “Sin”. His hesitation to punish them lead to a Holy War, his angels ravaging each other. Half loyal to the Lord Jehovah. Half angry, bitter, and longing for a world that once belonged to them. Destroyed for less. Once Balance was retained, the Lord Jehovah decided that the traitors were right about one thing, the Humans had gone too far.
The deluge that consumed this world left behind only fourteen families. Families that would be destined to evolve. Evolve into the next step of the Simian Race. Because of Sin, Humans were cast out of Eden, and it was moved from the Land of God, to the harsh lands of ice. Never to be seen again, until the creation of the Superhuman.
The first amongst them, the greatest profit and warrior of God that this world will ever know. An elemental of water, an immortal, and a tracker, he was the Hero and Leader of nearly all who came after him. Delivering the rules unto the Humans, and freeing the faithful. Witnessing the corruption of his people, and the wrath bestowed upon them. And so their own rules were delivered upon them.
Ten Commandments of the Superhumans:
1. Thou shall live in the shadows of thine own shame.
2. Thou shalt not use thine gifts to create worship that takes away form the Lord.
3. Thou must aide and hold accountable for all mortals in need, without braking Commandment One.
4. Thou shalt not use thine gifts to endanger the social or moral rule of the mortals.
5. Thou must hold accountable for the evils of thine neighbor.
6. Thou must take accountable of thine own children, teach them of the shame and their
own accountability.
7. Thou shalt not participate in or influence any mortal war.
8. Thou shalt not use thine gifts for thine own personal gains.
9. Thou shalt not look upon the Glory of Heaven until thine time set by the Lord.
10. Thou must obey all commandments set down upon the Humans!
Moses was the Hero and Leader of many important men. The Kingdom’s Heart, whose legend and family would forever be linked to God’s divine plans. The Scholarly Guardian, who taught many the king and superhuman the truth and light of God. And the Traitor who is so loved by God, whose life was destroyed to make a point, but was promised eternal life in return.
He bore witness to the birth of a God. And he recorded a book, one that would hold truer than any other. Untainted by the hand of man. After that, he disappeared.
In the wake of the birth of the miracle known as Jesus Christ, many of the Superhumans proved to be unwilling to obey the laws of our Lord. Creating the need for more champions. Created by the Church of Jesus’s most favored disciple, St. Peter, the Saviors were born. Born to combat those who would deny their place beside our Lord. Those declared the enemies of our Lord.
Enemies like the super intellectual known as Dr. Franstein. The doctor used his gift to create a machine meant to secure the life of the dying, stealing their souls for his own sick purposes. However, this lead to the discovery of a witchcraft mal-formity known as “Zombism.”
After puberty, certain superhumans develop a certain chill all about their bodies, as their souls shrivel and die. Most humans assume that these superhumans are the living dead, because they act in inhuman and immoral ways. But, without a soul, what good are morals. They still retain their motor-skills and memories, contrary to popular mythology. However, knowing that, for them, death really is the end, most feel no need to care about the rules the rest of us most abide. This is what created the popular myth of the brain and flesh eating. Unfortunately for the “good doctor,” his machine drew these people from around the world, straight to him. His gruesome death and the monster he “created” have been the focus many tales of horror.
Likewise, there are the skin-walkers known as Biron Von Drake and Carman Wolfenstein. Drake, mythically referred to as a “Vampire,” and known as “Dracula,” was a mortal born capable of transcending his human form for that of humanoid-bat. Drake was also born with a rare blood disease that forced him to need to shield himself from the sun light and regularly ingest fresh, untainted blood. The man that he was, he never intended to harm any human beings, feeding instead on the blood of the livestock his father had raised, as his father before him, and so on. But the humans, as is their nature, could not leave well enough alone. They found out about the rapid deaths of Drake’s cattle and began snooping around his lands, hoping to stop whatever “disease” was to blame, before it affected their herds as well. After discovering his gruesome secret, the townspeople sought the aide of the church. And the myths of holy water, crosses, and stakes to the heart were born.
The church sent their greatest warrior, Wilhelm Von Hessel, to destroy this demon, this abomination. Like most of the supernaturals associated with the church, Von Hessel was a water elemental, known as an “aquakinetic.” Being kinetic means that the elemental is able to generate the element, but not become it. Only a high level elemental can transcend human form for that of an elemental humanoid. And only they can experience the immortality of the elemental. The warrior Von Hessel used his ability in order to generate a sword made of “holy” water. Which he then used to slay the beast by running the sword through Drake’s heart, and ripping it from his chest. This of course, did kill the man, but only because killing a skin-walker requires the separation of the brain and heart. With the crosses of God that the warrior wore, the water of God he wielded, and the “wooden stake” he told the naive humans delivered the death blow, they believed this was all it took to kill any vampire. A myth that has sent many the “vampire slayer” to his/her grave over the centuries.
As for Wolfenstein, he was the first known “Were wolf” on record. Which was not an accurate name, considering the fact that his skin-walker form resembled more of a fox than a wolf. The ignorant humans of this village created the name for this beast based solely on his own surname. The myth of the silver bullet killing this kind of “monster” comes from yet another mere coincidence. The people of Wolfenstein’s village provoked him into a frenzy, causing many of them to be killed. Only one lone villager, a young boy protecting his mother and sisters. He was able to stop the beast, with the single silver bullet his late father gave him as present before leaving for the journey that cost him his own life. The bullet pierced the beast’s skull, throwing his brains out the back of his head. Seeing that this killed the beast, the naive humans assumed that silver was the answer.
The worst myth of all, is that a bite or scratch can make a mortal into a skin-walker. You must be born one, to be one.
Then came the mentals. Specifically, the “psychic.” Who was a fraud. The first psychic was a mental, but he was actually a mind reader, who manipulated the humans into believing that he saw their futures and spoke to their loved ones, for profit. He was taken out by the Church as well, as punishment for breaking the 1st & 8th Commandments. The Church does not always react so boldly these days, because the cynical Humans have doubts that are greater than their beliefs.
Invisibility, the fifth element (life), unicorns, trolls, and many more. Known as witches (spirituals), physicals, mentals (psionicals), skin-walkers (ferals), elementals, and the deformed amongst them, the mal-formed (abnormals). The supernatural powers possible grew with each passing decade. And the Saviors of the Church continued their campaign to force these people to obey the laws of the Lord. Even at the expense of their God given free will.
But the Humans still reigned. They were too smart to be bred out of existence, and too strong to be slaughtered by their betters, either of which being the fates of their lessers. They would have to be destroyed. Destroyed by something more. Many men will declare they know the answers, but their will be only one True Apocalypse. And its outcome will be decided, by the Gods of Chaos . . .
