As a renowned public speaker, author, and television BET (2006) commercial personality, Alisha Broughton has risen to national prominence by delivering a high energy message which tells people how to shake off mediocrity and live up to their greatness. It is a message Alisha Broughton has learned from her own life and one she is helping others.
Alisha had her formal education at Delaware State University but with persistence and determination she has initiated and continued a process of unending self-education which has distinguished her as an authority on human potential. Broughton's passion allowed her to learn and to achieve greatness. She rose from a college radio station and newspaper to a local intern to a free lance journalist; from community activist, political commentator to committees within her town council, and to premier keynote speaker.
Alisha was born on August 1, 1969 at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, DE to the parents of Vaun Dyke Ford and Beverly Singletary. She was raised in Millsboro, De and attended Indian River High School where she graduated in 1987. Alisha is currently employed part-time by the State of DE and has been a public school special education educator for several years. She is a part-time instructor at Delaware Technical and Community College in Georgetown, De and Delaware State University. She is writing her first book with hopes for publication in July 2009. The book is a compilation of poetry entitled, Phrases of Poetric Verse, and a second book to follow.
